I am typically pretty handy with guitar builds and mods, but the Hipshot Bender System does not come with very thorough instructions and most posts on forums are quite older and videos are not much help, either. I would love to offer someone $$ or a trade of some sorts for some thorough directions, perhaps with some photos. I am not clear on what to do with the hooks wrapped around the post that runs perpendicular to the strings and at this point I am not getting much, if any, movement with either lever. I have been working on this sporadically over the past month and have succeeded only in scratching both the bender and my guitar body. If someone could save me from myself, I would owe you what in Star Wars is called a life debt. Please TDPRI community, you are my only hope.

The hooks are downbearing bars.
The strings go under them.
They apply a slight downward pressure, keeingnthe strings in the saddle.
I (gently) reccomend slightly heavier string.
At least an 11 set.
I use 12s.
