I just bought Chuck Mead's new CD "Journeyman's Wager" (Chuck is the lead singer of BR5-49) and Kenny V is ALL OVER that album. Check it out if you like Kenny's playing.

I saw him on the Opry awhile back playing an old Harmony hollowbody (not a Meteor or a Rocket, some 3 pickup double cutaway).
On a related note, I just recently read he's from Oklahoma; does anybody know from what part of the state he hails?

Kenny is the man and Marty can hold his on foe sure. Where can a person find some tabs on that kind of jazz licks hes doing in walk like that? Anybody who loves princetons like I do has got to be cool.

Kenny is from Bartlesville, Oklahoma. His father worked for Phillips 66 who had their headquarters there. Country singer/piano player Becky Hobbs is also from Bartlesville. Kenny told me his aunt lived across the alley from Becky's house-- and still thinks Becky is the best piano player in Nashville.
For those who care Bartlesville is about 49 miles north of Tulsa and 20 miles south of the Kansas line. Has a population of about 35,000. I don't remember his exact age, somewhere around 10-12 when his Dad got transferred to Denver, which is where he really grow up and spent his teen age years. Hope this is of some use to you. Forgot to mention I am also from B'ville! Just so you know how I know, LOL.

I run my 68 Princeton(see avatar) with the exact same settings except the bass. I have it at 10. I thought that was nutty, but I saw where Jim Campilongo does it, so I tried it. It works great.

If you think he is all over that album, you should check out "Memphis In Manhattan" by Billy Burnette. It is all Burnette singing and Vaughn playing guitar. Some of the greatest rockabilly you will ever listen to.

Just bought an early 90's G&L with a Bixby B-16 Tune-o-matic from KV. There's allot of history in this guitar. Kenny is a cool dude and easy to work with.

I saw Kenny with Marty in Taylorsville, N.C. a couple of months ago. From where I was sitting it looked like he was playing a '52 reissue.

Don't think I've ever seen another tele with strat neck pickup where the pickup was body mounted, with no screws showing. Must be a PIA to get that right.

Oh, just noticed , it looks like Kenny is using some Grolsch beer bottle washers for his low tech strap locks! ;)
