Barnett was confident yeti sightings would continue.

"You can’t kill a legend with anything as mundane as facts," he said.

This creature is in the fossil record. Theres a word for it in 150 Native American languages. Maybe it was made extinct along w the Mega Fauna after the comet strike of 12,800 years ago or maybe it wasn t. No basis whatsoever for derisive comments.

I'm picturing a couple of privates playing a big joke on their platoon by sneaking off at oh-dark-thirty and making fake Yeti footprints in the snow, always making them over their original footprints
so that the presence of humans in the area is masked by the larger, fake footprints. Of course, when the expedition commander thought these things were the real deal and reported it up the chain of command
now these two privates are scared to death, worried they'll be dishonorably discharged for a practical joke that got out of hand.

They told him there was no such thing as a big foot, yeti continued to argue there was.

I'll be here all week. Don't forget to tip your waitress.

I would ask you first what species of Homo you are referring to, in the fossil record.

There isn't an 8 foot-tall, hair-covered one (with the intelligence to avoid the encroachment of 7 Billion Sapiens into virtually every crevice of the world) that rolls off my primate tongue.

It's always just a few tantalizing clues.

Typical western intellectual arrogance assumming native peoples can t even identify the animals they live w. The bears that is. The Gigantopithecus is a 100% match for Yeti/Big Foot/Skunk Ape. Easily plausable they re still around. Recently found was a sub species of Chimp that weighs 250 lbs. An animal as smart as an ape would be quite able to hide itself from Man and have the good sense to do so.
