There's the old joke about someone who's told his socks don't match, to which he replies,"Yeah and I have another pair at home just like them."

So I want to see the other guitar made from the leftover parts from this one!

A friend of mine used to say, "Even white girls take their clothes off when you put Al Green on."

I think I found the key in the very first paragraph that we should have figured out right off.

"The discovery of this guitar at an estate sale of a former Gibson tech gives creedence to the rumour than Fender and Gibson did indeed collaborate on a guitar almost four decades ago."

Oh yes they did. I've had to jump through hoops to replace them for broken headstock repairs.

I made that guitar! The rest of the story...... My first good guitar is a story unto itself.
1980 - ad in paper read -old guitar for sale in case, needs work.
I bought my first Fender telecaster for $100. By the way it was a 1958 telecaster with the original tweed case. My next good guitar was also a find in the paper, a 1959 Gibson ES-345 custom with original PAF's and a Bigsby. Unfortunately I sold both of those guitars way to cheap in the 80's.
I've been building guitars for years now and earlier this year I had a wild notion that I would build a guitar that combined the best features of my two all time favorite guitars and the result is what you see in the pics above. It may be a bastard, buts it's the best kind that all mother's warn their daughters about! Seductively different but very appealing as well......

I just got a REALLY nice mahogany/maple body from Mike - doublecut Hamer Special/Sunburst/LP Jr. shape. It will eventually be something really cool, but I'm not putting a Tele neck on it!
