I spent an hour this morning playing Laurent’s Tele. Like all guitars in my experience that come off his bench, the fit, finish, feel, intonation and set up are perfect. He totally nailed the neck profile that I requested.

The Lollar Charlie Christian pickups were really the unknown factor in this commission. My initial impression is they sound fantastic! They have a slightly fatter sound than traditional single coils, but still have excellent clarity and string-to-string balance. The bridge pickup. Is not “twangy” like single coils can be and sound somewhere between a single coil and a low wind humbucker. The Hiscox case seems quite protective and has a large accessory pocket to store a cable, tuner, strings and picks.

A couple of home made shots in my back yard of the guitar and my amp...

For those of you who are not familiar with Laurent’s acoustic guitars, here is a mahogany/adirondack 000 that he made me a few years ago...

Is that a Gibson-like "volute" at the neck-to-headstock junction?

Thanks, I could 'see' something was there, but not well enough to understand what I *thought* I was seeing...the darkened surface threw me off.

Both arms and both legs? That's why the guitar still sits in its case (wink, wink)?
