Welp, just traded a bunch of stuff for this little guy. Picking it up Thursday! Can’t wait. Sounds awesome with the gold, I’ve also got a ‘60’s jensen I can put in it. Absolutely dead quiet, serviced, and in really good shape. Great clean and dirty tone, and the tremolo is perfect.

That looks beautiful! All I'm seeing on Reverb right now are Chris Stapleton signature models, no originals. Nice find!

Nice amp. What did you trade for it? I have a 62 brownie Deluxe. Both are great amps.

The celestion in there now...is that an alnico blue?

I traded a beat up classic 60’s mim strat, victoria 20112, a bassman ltd and an fx pedal from eqd.

Right now it has a celestion gold 10” speaker. Only mod from stock. It’s been maintained, but not changed much since 1962. Two knobs are replaced, and it doesn’t have the footswitch. Has an aftermarket but good quality cover as well.

I only just discovered these a few weeks ago and have been gasing for that trem sound ever since haha. For some reason in my naivety i had always just disregarded anything pre Sf. How foolish of me.... a whole new world of temptations has opened now

I have a friend who's very much a vintage amp fan and a tone snob. He told me the Stapleton sig was close enough to the 62' to fool his ears. Either is too rich for my blood, but it sounds like they really nailed it with the Stapleton.

Very nice, I have a Fat Jimmy 1025 in one. Sounds like you made a great trade. These things will only go up in value. And yours looks to be great shape. Have fun with it

That’s a great score, man. I spent several months jonesing for a 6g2. Scoured the internet diligently looking for a deal. Finally went with a startup builder of vintage circuits. He’s been building commercially about a year, primarily tweeds. My order was his first 6g2, but he did a great job.

Yours looks much cooler of course.
