I am loving the Fender ClassicGear tuners and I feel they are almost a must upgrade for any MIM guitar with the standard cast tuners. They drop right in to any two post hole, look like legit old fender machines, but work like legit new sealed machines.

As on the Mustang below, the standard tuning machines look out of place but as you can see the ClassicGear design looks great AND work better to boot.

Full frontal, wearing an SDS-1 at the bridge and a custom-built rwrp/flat pole FS-1 at the neck.

Yep; I agree that these are great tuners. I had them on my recently-departed American Performer Mustang and they worked well - vintage looks but modern tuning ratio.

Are these the vintage looking tuners with the hole in the top of the posts to put the string end in?

Sacrilege! Mustang tuners need white plastic buttons. Heretic! You must repent for your crimes.

No, they are non-locking. They are avintage-style split-post tuner that happens to mount with the 2 pins and screw-down collar like Fender's modern tuners.

Yeah, I was pretty sure they were non-locking. My question was if they were the vintage looking, meaing in appearance. Fender has some vintage appearing button tuners with a hole in the post for the string ends. I was wondering if these were those ones. I like those because there are no sharp ends to poke your fingers.

Those are going to look a bit out of place on my Standard Series MIM Stratocaster with the non-spaghetti logo, but I'll do it anyway because I prefer vintage-style split tuners to conventional or locking tuners.

Sorry I misunderstood. Yes - when I'm saying "split post" and you're saying "hole in the post" we mean the same thing. Which of course means no sharp ends to poke your fingers.
