From the eighties..
Love this song.
The way Deborah's eyes burn into the camera..ho boy..
Love how the band kicks in after the bridge at 2.40, then the lyrics of the next verse tells it like it is.. and then the final lines of the final verse that builds up into her tip of the hat to the Wizard of Oz.. just huge..
Her three young daughters sing this, then Deborah joins them at the end.. brings tears to my eyes every time
She doesn't sing the kind of music I usually listen to, but back when I was living in Bendigo, my wife and I went out to a local pub for dinner. As we went through the door they said 'that'll be $25' (or so). We looked a bit surprised so they said, 'oh there is a band tonight'. So we decided to check it out. It was Deborah and it was a great show, really enjoyable. And about as intimate as you can get .
Oh yes her shows are remarkable! That voice!!
If anyone's still reading/watching, here's a small doco..
Couple of highlights:
6.45 singing Crazy at her Patsy Cline tribute
14:00: anyone who bought 25 copies of her cd from her website got them personally delivered followed by a 20min gig in the lounge room, how cool is that!
This is almost hymnal.. I'd have it played at my funeral
Better audio hopefully here
