Actually what reminded me of the 2018 Jazz-Tele was their recent release of a Jazz-Strat .. It's even cooler, tho currently priced at 1800£ makes it too expensive ... but who knows two years down the line .. It might even reach the 999£ I paid for my Jazz-Tele, tho I suspect that the strat version will sell better, so hoping for less than 1500£ is probably too much.

Start body looks great tho, block inlays and those pinstripes on the guard .. yummy

The recently released 2020 Jazz-Strats got block inlays (see post above)

My question is...how come its not on Fenders site? Looks like a great guitar.
I had in mind to get a Jazzmaster but I find this more appealing.
Please point the way so I can see the cost.

It's from the 2018 parallel universe series that had all sorts of weird models like a tele with a strat body and a jazzmaster with strat pickups. It was a limited release. They are mostly sold out and gone, I was lucky that one of the two last ones I had bookmarked and kept an eye on went from 1300£ to a clearance sale price of 999£ over the weekend. Try googling and you might find one or two still.

Fender has just released the parallel univese II series that has a Jazz-strat, but that is far too expensive to my taste.

    that's a fine looking instrument - congrats!

You had me leaning into a scouting expedition until you said "narrow, tall" frets. Which aren't my favorite, but maybe not a deal killer. I could, for example, play it enough to wear down the frets to the height I like...:)

It's the frets the american pro series sport. Not my favorite either, but they're not really a deal breaker for me. I like my frets beefier normally, but the couple of american pro models I've played have been ok.

Description states that it is the same neck as on the american pro jazzmaster, except that they've given it a nitro finish

Very cool. I'd never heard of that before.
From the title, somehow i was expecting Charlie Christian pickups, but P90 can do jazz very well too.

Happy NGD. JM pickups are my favorite pups and tele body is my favorite body style. Love the neck with the binding too. I may have to build something similar but I would probably choose some sort of hardtail bridge.

you stole my idea! haha. a local shop close to me has had 2 of these suckers hanging on the wall for quite some time now. i can't believe they have not sold yet because i think the aesthetics of a jazzmaster vibrato on a tele body are really killer. tbh, i kinda thought this model would be a sleeper hit by now, but i have not seen anyone famous playing them just yet. could be your big break.

anyway, that's a nice buy. and i think the surf green is definitely the best colour they have available on these. enjoy the new axe.

OK ... cool, hard to judge on a computer screen. I would have prefered the sunburst, but it was the surf green that got put on sale, so easy choice. I'm hoping real life is cooler than on screen .. and you having seen it in real life adds to my hopes . Thx mate

Congrats, they’re pretty fun. I picked up a sunburst one a few weeks ago as the last new ones are finally being reduced from the original 2k price-point. My favorite neck had been the compound on my Elite but I’m really enjoying the deep-C and tall narrow frets.

    Enjoy it!
