I have really been digging my Mad Professor Golden Cello, but not digging the limited delay. I found a mint MP Deep Blue Delay and MP Amber Overdrive(basically the drive side og the Golden Cello) with the Midas Touch mod. I couldn't resist at about $150 each and the Midas Touch seems to be a nice tweak to a circuit I really dig.

Anyway. I'm beating myself up over it and feeling like a hypocrite while I complain to my wife about the barrage of Amazon boxes weekly. lol. I guess I'll sell a few stragglers to make up for it.

On the level I hear what you’re saying. But pedal GAS is a force multiplier.
Every overdrive and delay is a little different. It’s like when you adopt a puppy and then you think about all the other puppies who didn’t find their forever homes.
You owe it to yourself and the puppies to explore modulating delays and possibly some reverse reverbs.

Lol...I did and ended up with the JHS Octave Reverb which sounds divine. I also reached a point that I wanted to have big boy pedals, not just all Chinese knock offs.

I got a email just this morning , sweetwater maybe, telling me I could get shoegaze in a box...heck i never even considered needing that, but now it's got me wondering...

to fend that off, i bought a Missing Link Audio germanium Eliminator pedal instead

Got the MP Deep Blue Delay. The Donner knock off is good but there’s really no comparison. Worth the price difference? Idk. Delay is a bit of a sniffer pedal. Who plays close attention to quality of repeats other than the guitarist or a producer? I’m glad I got a good deal on the MP but the Yellow Fall would suffice for anyone I think.
Worth the price difference for me today, but maybe not next week. Lol

Just point out how expensive the boats and giant trucks and stock cars and motorcycles and etc are when you see them on the highway.
“Guitar sure seems like a cheap hobby compared to that.”

I’ve tried so many delight petals over the years that I’m ashamed to admit how much money I spent on all of them. I have finally settled on a boring boss DD8. Honestly it doesn’t work any better than the yellow fall which I think is an absolutely killer delay.
I wants had a mad professor Sweet Honey overdrive, which I thought was fantastic and honestly I don’t know why I sold it.

tried a couple of pedals (Carbon Copy, Katana, Tone Press, Tumnus) every time I was delighted to hear how much better the amp sounded without any of those - cured forever

It's true that most of us have a constant thirst to try out new equipment: the only way to effectively combat GAS is to find the "right" pedal that perfectly works for you on the long run.
I've already done this for reverb , OD and fuzz pedals, and I don't feel the need to upgrade or change now.
