Congrats! Nice guitar and nice price!

Recently bought an Open Box Road worn 50's Limited Telecaster from MF. Worth it to look for bargains!

So it's the equivalent of a used instrument purchased from a reputable shop, even though you are the first owner.

Still, you'd pay more for a truly used one, even with that chip.

For the heck of it I called Fender and the gentlemen said the key to the warranty is it cannot say the word used anywhere on the invoice.
As long as it doesn’t you’re good.
So I guess it still has the warranty as it doesn’t say used.

    Nice!

I like having that first dent out of the way personally.

Because they didn't have the finish I wanted in blem form, they gave me a brand new one for almost the price of the blemished one. In other words, I think I paid what amounted to an additional shipping cost.

On another note, I thought prices were supposed to increase for a relic ;) Seems like MF did you a favor

I’m kinda speechless at how good it sounds and plays.

Gorgeous Tele and at that price I could certainly live with that dent.I gig my guitars so they get banged up pretty quick anyways so that is not an issue for me.Congratulations!!

I've wondered if they play and sound as good as they look. I've always wanted a '62 double-bound (in sunburst). Mom & Pops store here in Nashville has one, saw it today. Didn't bother with asking to play it (top row), but maybe I will next time.

Not that I should drop $2000 right now. Still have an old Mopar in the paint shop.

So that’s a good used price. And a used guitar will likely have a ding. Unless it is a case queen it’s going to get a ding somehow. These have the poly undercoat so are a bit more robust on the finish side than previous avri 62 types. I’m not seeing these come up for Sale used much here in the Uk

Rutters straight comp brass saddles and electro socket jack inbound.
Definitely a keeper I would say don’t hesitate on the scratch n dent stuff you may get lucky.
    Thanks for the compliments!

Yup. These mass marketers necessarily deal in generalizations rather than trying to grade "exactly how much blemishing..." might be present. They just want to move stuff because they can't do fussy pricing online. I think you got a solid, good, and fair-not-amazing, deal. That ding is fixable but probably not even worth the bother. But yeah, MF cannot otherwise move a dinged guitar.

    What a beauty!!

Being way down South (New Zealand) :) with exchange rate, shipping costs etc, I tend to only buy scratch n dent from MF. I have bought 3-4 this way and each time either couldn't find a mark or it was miniscule (less than yours).

I bet there's some out there, in the used market, for more. IMO, for 2020, this is a mighty well bought guitar.

I was gonna recommend the O.P. to that small guitar shop in Cumberland, MD (the old downtown area; hope it is still there) but he's gambled and won, I would say. And, just because us kayakers drive back and forth between the New, the Upper and Lower Gauley, the Youghigheny, Cheat and Big and Little Sandy Rivers without thinking - I tend to forget this is a fairly serious distance.

Hollerbody, I'm glad to hear you have some Rutters saddles on the way. Doesn't look like your guitar would intonate well, the way MF sent it to you.
