Tropical Storm Imelda popped up out of nowhere 2 days ago. Now SE Texas is getting hammered.

I-10 between Winnie and Beaumont is shut down. Vidor and Winnie are getting flooded now worse than when Harvey hit two years ago.

And my sister, who lives next to Lake Houston and whos house was destroyed in Harvey.. is now saying it looks like her house is about to flood again.

Be safe ya'll.. hope the folks in Texas and Louisiana can safely ride out what is becoming a very nasty Tropical Storm.

Actually it has been hanging around in the Gulf, and gradually building up, for a week. I've been watching it each morning, more concerned about it drifting Eastward towards Florida Panhandle.

    I’m sorry BB.
My sister’s place in Friendswood got completely ruined by Harvey, and Imelda just flooded her front “mud room”.
I was hoping Imelda might alleviate the drought around here.
I guess it’s foolish to wish about the weather.
Are you around, or are you on the road?

    Fun day in H-town

I'm here, high and dry. Sister's place is ok so far. We'll see if the waters keep rising, hopefully the worst is over.

Beaumont out East is really hammered.

This tropical storm Imelda formed and made landfall in an hour. Nature can be funny like that.

    Be safe ya'll...

    Stay safe, people.

I'm constantly amazed at how many 'extreme' weather events now seem to happen regularly, right around the world.

We tend to be more aware of the 'local' stuff, but it's happening everywhere.
