I knew nothing of Bowie. I met some new friends and they were and one week later I am at the Ziggy Stardust show. Band comes on and Bowie stands,(with that exact outfit), in one place for two entire songs. Incredible music, but no action until a gal from each side of the stage walks to his side, and yanks that outfit off. Now, Bowie is in a rainbow jockstrap, and the show begins. Best show I ever saw. Long Beach arena.

I saw David Bowie and the Spiders at The Long Beach Arena on March 10, 1973. To this day it is the Best concert I ever attended. I bet you were at that show teleman 1.
Yes Sir! And it was my Birthday. The night was different right when we arrived. My hair is to the middle of my back and I am freaking at bizarre looking people. People with sequents on their face, red, green blue hair. We were early, mis judging the drive from the valley to Long Beach.SO I have my binoculars and viewing the stadium. Then, I see two guys arguing on the other side of the arena. A guy with a big red long beard. The other guy GRABS the beard and pulls him to the ground. That wasn't you Posttoastie? LOL

To this day it is the Best concert I ever attended.<<<<<I have seen Hendrix and endless concerts of most of my heros. Posttoastie, I must agree, it is still the best concert I ever saw. Bowie had the audience in his hand, Ronson was firing on all cylinders. The entire sound was flawless. When I see lists of best shows, I always mention this and wonder if any of the other bests, came close to this show. I saw Queen under much of the same circumstances as well as Rory Gallagher

I sold a yellow '73 super beetle last fall...
I drove one just like it from Phoenix to Austin in the 90s. We took 290 through Fredericksburg in the middle of the night. I remember counting 23 deer and only 6 cars by the time we got near Austin. I imagine there's a lot more traffic these days.

I LOVE this album...in 73 I drew this album cover hundreds of times...

Hard to believe how conservatively I dress now, when THIS was my ideal, in 73
..lmao

My sister got one brand new ...by the time I got it, I had to stick my foot out the door to back it up...it wouldn't go in reverse. Finding a spot on the corner was essential.
