24 years after the film.
edit to add: That Judy Garland is a STONE sweetheart! omg

topic #2) You thought I couldn't veer this thread over to Sierra Ferrell? Ha! For several years, up to 2 years or so back, it was (short) Sierra Ferrell with (tall) Josh Rilko, mandolin; (tall) Geoff Saunders, bass; (taller still) Oliver Bates Craven, fiddle and guitar. Pretty much like you-know-who with her Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion, and Tin Man.

A song should exist along the lines of "Poor, Poor Dorothy!"

How the heck did you make it even 1/2 a mile down the yellow brick road? Your Scarecrow? An airhead. Your Tin Man? Heartless. Your big Lion? Cowardly.

ON THE OTHER HAND My lion? Courageous from the jump! My Tin Man? Full of heart from the git go! My Scarecrow? Born sharp as a tack!

Now they added a drummer, Matty Meyer, who's great, ESPECIALLY on the Latin-tinged rhythms, and indispensable for connecting Sierra Ferrell to audiences in huge venues. Appreciate his contributions!

But, being a 4th fellow, and not tall, he kind of dilutes the Wizard of Oz comparison.

As a wee lad, I thought the Wicked Witch was actually funny. But them Flyin' Monkeys terrified me at bedtime and in my dreams. For some reason, it always was shown on TV just before my bedtime.
In 1956 my Grandma took me to see The Mole People matinee. We had to sit in the 1st row in front of the screen. The mole people crawl out underground into a bedroom and drag the victim back down with them. I had nightmares after that one. (I was only 6 at the time).
