24 years after the film.
edit to add: That Judy Garland is a STONE sweetheart! omg
topic #2) You thought I couldn't veer this thread over to Sierra Ferrell? Ha! For several years, up to 2 years or so back, it was (short) Sierra Ferrell with (tall) Josh Rilko, mandolin; (tall) Geoff Saunders, bass; (taller still) Oliver Bates Craven, fiddle and guitar. Pretty much like you-know-who with her Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion, and Tin Man.
A song should exist along the lines of "Poor, Poor Dorothy!"
How the heck did you make it even 1/2 a mile down the yellow brick road? Your Scarecrow? An airhead. Your Tin Man? Heartless. Your big Lion? Cowardly.
ON THE OTHER HAND My lion? Courageous from the jump! My Tin Man? Full of heart from the git go! My Scarecrow? Born sharp as a tack!
Now they added a drummer, Matty Meyer, who's great, ESPECIALLY on the Latin-tinged rhythms, and indispensable for connecting Sierra Ferrell to audiences in huge venues. Appreciate his contributions!
But, being a 4th fellow, and not tall, he kind of dilutes the Wizard of Oz comparison.
