From my local used site:
C'mon, you could fit a Tele in there if you wedge it in...just...right...
Something Ian Hunter once owned?
One of these......??
Well we all have to keep our whale tail shaped '80s shredder guitar safe on flights don't we?
quick stick a harpoon in it!
Coffee all over the screen.
What the WHAT?
Helluva guitar and case, eh? Not sure it's for me, though....!
Has to be that Macaris guitar, what else could it possibly be? Wondering how it got separated from it's owner though, or how this guy ended up with it without knowing what it is?!
I would buy it in a heartbeat and build a guitar to fit, or just use it as a luggage to carry my stuff during holidays! It’s cool.
And that handle placement! Surely, you'd need a little wheel at the tail end to roll it along.
It would be worth building a guitar just so you could rock that case.
Also at 50 pounds or under it's a bargain.
At least it’s not neck heavy
Leave it to the folks at the TDPRI to find the guitar it was made for 30 minutes after I posted. You are probably right as Macari's is the local shop here. You guys are brilliant.
Still making my mind up on that one.
That original Whale Tail is expensive enough that 50 quid is a bargain for that, and is an easy sell when there is someone that has that guitar and no case.
Which could be a long wait.
Although it shouldn't be too hard to build a more tasteful variation of that guitar.
I did the web photos for Macari's Gibson Custom Shop guitars a couple of years ago (a few of them - the ones against a black background are still on there). I was in Macari's a couple of Saturdays ago and saw the whale guitar - though not "up close". It's probably a very good piece of kit and Anthony (Macari) is a great bloke and always ready to consider a trade.
Obviously, you'd need to check if it is the right case but what are the chances of there being two whale-tail guitars, eh?
Incidentally, the Macari family is the origin of ColorSound Tone Bender pedals and they're always worth a demo if you're thereabouts.
I know where you can get one for $35
I guess asking for the understated elegance of a tele is just asking for to much at times.
Yes. Mind you, one man's understated elegance is another man's canoe paddle with strings attached.....
