That’s no slide. It’s an ankle bracelet. That guitar may have wanted to kill your mama, but what it actually did was roll a liquor store upstate. The police bungled some procedures and the guitar had a good lawyer. So it’s on house arrest with some work allowances.

Some guitarists put a string dampener above the nut and it wraps around the headstock right there. Perhaps he swings the metal slide around for the opposite of dampening?

I mean, come on!! is there a pair of trousers made for men that does NOT have a pair of pockets on the front, and a pair of pockets on the back?

Is there a song that is so critically arranged that the player has to have the slide RIGHT there?

Can he actually grab that slide more rapidly from there than he could from a pocket?

I usually carry at least a dozen slides in my cargo shorts. Glass, steel, brass, ceramic, reversible, partial, etc...

It’s a slide. He used it on a song earlier in the set. I know cuz I was there at the concert and it was epic. So many guitar swaps in the show, Ringo shows up and plays 2 songs, and Walsh from the Eagles showed up for a song in the encore.

Could be, I've also seen some guys using small rare earth magnets glued to their guitar to hold a slide in place.[/QUOTE]
Not a brass one though. Pretty sure Brass is non ferrous.

I was thinking the same thing. "Oh, as long as we're working there anyway, how about a slide clip?" Probably similar to a 9 volt battery clip.

It's the same Walsh. You both win.

I can’t think of a Beatles/McCartney song of the top of my head that fits this example, but there are several songs I can think of that require the guitarist to switch back and forth from slide to regular playing in quick fashion.

Zakk Wylde in Ozzy’s No More Tears is a good example.

Steve Vai does it here with brilliance, if not sheer guitar terror.
