... and a quarter of my amps ... that's 6/11 and one of four ...

So, I KNOW it's heretical, but I've come to a space ... I play in two bands and gravitate towards the same every time ... so what's ta do with the others ...

I have an amp at each practice space, one of which I use live (which is a whole 'nother descussion ... but thatsa different thread ...) ... I've got plenty of tones covered with what's left ...

    ... no mas anhelo ...

If your not using them. Go for it. You only play one at a time.

I sold all of my offsets....

Bu then I used that money to buy or have all of the parts made to build one left handed Jaguar.

I'm still working on that one....

The bad thing about selling off guitars and amps is later wishing you had them or miss them.

Me too, with over thirty stringed instruments (ten Tele types) I have too much gear not being used but taking up more than the available space in the house. Over the next year I plan to sell over half of it. The proceeds will fund a nice holiday and one or two really special guitar..

Can't play 'em all at once.

Tastes change. Situations change. As long as you're happy with the gear you have left, it's all good.

Um, not necessarily. I have 2 at home, which I like to run together when I have the place to myself

I too endeavor to thin down the herd.

I would like to get down to just nine guitars or less, if at all possible.

Some guitars, and I mean guitars that I just had to have, don't get played all that often.
They should be able to find new homes where they will get the love they so richly deserve.

    :(

I'm keeping all of mine. I don't care if I don't use them for a short while and I have the room to keep them.

If I sold them and later wanted to replace them, It would cost me more money in the long run.

Funny, I plan to keep building them until my wife can't fit in my workshop anymore... Sweet, sweet solitude

Yes sir fellas, this right here is that GAS hole that I dumped huge amounts of money, time, and anticipation into from buying guitars, and amps. It should be full by now, but it just keeps getting deeper.

All of them "extra" guitars is just like them wild women, they'll let just anybody handle them, and are just as liable to go home with just about anybody that picks 'em up.

Down to two acoustics and three electrics. That's enough to keep me always with a guitar and backup for two bands. All three electrics are solid body so I could see a semi or full hollow at some point. Feels great to have gear I know really well and use a ton.

I think 3 electrics is the perfect number. Two for the gig and one to rotate in and out to help spread out wear and tear.

I'm trying to get there--I have five (plus an electric 12 string that I use on a few songs). I dont play the Strat and Casino much, but I can't bring myself to get rid of either. The Strat is great and has a lot of sentimental value, and the Casino is really nice and fun to play. I just prefer the others right now. I'm down from 7 though and it definitely felt good to move along the ones that aren't getting used.

    If you don't use'em, lose'em.
You will feel better after they are gone.
