I'm done with the politics, the whining, the spoiled "sports stars" playing sporting games that I used to have a keen interest in.

Money, fame, and politics have ruined it for me. I won't attend or watch any more. I'm over it.

The idea of playing games with no one in the stands is just the perfect cherry on top. No thanks.

Yeah, I don't see the point...I know its about the TV money, but I don't think I'll be interested.
I've heard others express that opinion, too. I'm a big NBA fan but I don't know how I'll feel when/if the games actually begin. I'm not a fan of the idea that a player can just decide not to play. To me they're either on the team, and will go by team management decisions, or they aren't, and, if not, they have just made themselves tradeable.

The only team sports that I like are lacrosse, hockey, and rugby. The rest of them, I’m not interested.

Life is too short to watch people paid to play sports. Little League baseball and high school football are an exception for me. Players using pro sports to make political statements is BS in my opinion too

Mahomes is no doubt a special player, but a 10 year contract for $500 million?! is bound to cause a trickle down effect, more big contracts, more of those costs passed on to the fans' seat/parking/food/beverage/fan gear prices. It's all rather insane yet I know I'll continue to watch and root on my teams

    Ps, 500 million = a 1/2 billion dollars. 16 games/year plus playoffs.

.... and play 1/2 the game. defense plays the other half. so a regular one year "season" of 16 games is 8 hours work on the field. for 50 million

$3.125 million per game (for 1/2 hour play time)

    $104,166 per minute

...and more often acting like selfish, spoiled rotten children in the process. Shut them all down. No loss (in fact, probably a gain to the consumer/taxpayer). Amen.

Us sport diffusion is the worst in the world.

Ads every 10 mn for bud, 10 dollars KFC buckets to feed the whole family, and a Jeep Cheerokee with 500 paiement mensuality.

And I've watch at least 5 country for sport.

I never liked any professional sports except American thoroughbred racing and bull riding.

Maybe that speaks more to my attention span.

I've made that proclamation myself, but haven't stuck with it for long. My family has been following the St. Louis Cardinals since the 19th century, so many fond memories tied up with sports.

I do see why some people preferred it when people would wreck their body to entertain people who didn't give a second thought to their rights or well being. Shame that they have started to say what needs to be said.

Curious if you're done with everything. I see that you'd prefer NPR be done away with.... who should be allowed a voice? You seem to think your voice and opinions matter.

I am interested only in sports in which I participate. Beyond basic tribalism, the importance so many place on the professional teams and athletes astounds me. I appreciate some drama, the athleticism, and the finesse if these peoples' deeds. I'm certainly not giving up my weekends for it though.

I love sports. I like competition. I enjoy watching highly skilled athletes at work almost as much as I enjoy listening to highly skilled musicians.
