Bill builds great guitars.
I can feel your excitement and energy Tony...
so happy for you.... I know how much your Auntie meant to you.
For those of you basically wondering "What the.....????" The place he originally bought the guitar from didn't realize that they had a Bill Crook paisley Telecaster and they also didn't realize what they sell for....until he told them. It was then that they tried to buy it back but he vehemently declined. As far as my aunt wanting me to have the guitar, she knew how well I love paisley guitars so I think she asked him that if he ever sold it, to let me have it. Plus, he's having a difficult time getting used to the B-Bender being on the neck plate of the guitar. I saw him at the visitation this past Saturday and he explained all of this to me.
I hope that little bit of explanation helps.
Ok context helps a lot! LOL Congratulations on getting a great guitar. Now you gotta post pics.
Congratulations...and i remember what "the paisley" mean to you...
Great score Tony, congratulations!
Remember to post pics, we all want to see this one!
Bill doesn't do benders as far as I know, That would be McVay...That will set you back about $800 and not having the guitar for half a year.
Not sure if Crook does refins.
I know all about the Crook guitars and McVay benders. Both of those men are FB friends. I'm not sure if Bill does refinish jobs, either. That's why I'm going to ask him. And as far as me having to wait for six months for the guitar after (hopefully) getting a G-bender installed, that's ok. I had to wait for nearly a year for Andy Kirkpatrick to build my "Clarence" replica.
By the way, I'm also going to be GIVEN an original '68 paisley Telecaster (by the same guy who owns the Crook black paisley Tele)!!! So....I won't have to have anybody do a refinish job because I'll have an original '68 paisley Telecaster. I'm both blown away....and I know that this is definitely "a blessing from above"......
You are certainly blessed brother. Enjoy them in good health. Post pictures and maybe some video when you get them.
Just a small update:
I should be getting the '68 paisley & possibly the Crook black paisley after this month is over. I'll be sure to get pics for everyone (after I've played the pink paisley for a little while first, though)!
