Yep, you read that right! My late aunt must have talked to my cousin after he acquired a Bill Crook black paisley Telecaster (with a B-Bender) and she told him that she wanted him to let me have the guitar if anything ever happened to her. Well, he came up to me at the visitation on Saturday and told he that he was going to let me have the black paisley B-bender Bill Crook Telecaster that he'd only recently laid his money down for ($500.00)!!!

I'm so stunned, I still don't know what to say.......of course, I'm going to see if Bill will re-finish the guitar in vintage pink paisley and retro-fit a G-Bender to the guitar........that way I'll have a paisley with a B/G bender in my hands again. :)

As far as photos, he's promised that he's going to send me pictures as soon as he gets the guitar back from a buddy of his.

    *crosses fingers*

Golly! I still can't believe that I'll be getting a Crook paisley Tele.......

I hope that Bill doesn't charge much for refinishing the guitar in vintage pink paisley....

I don't understand. Your cousin bought a Crook with his money and your aunt wanted him to give it to you? Why?

Congratulations but this is a really weird story. The guitar belongs to your Cousin, but your late Aunt somehow has the discretion over what happens to his property after she passes away? And this "inheritance" will only cost you $500? And he doesn't have it right now, it's with a friend?

Have you actually seen this Crook Tele for yourself? And is he asking for the $500 up front?

Those sell for almost 10 x that $500. They are usually in the $3500-$4000 range I believe. Others may have more input into that.

I suspect a refinish would be well above $500.

    None of this adds up.

I don't think that cousin is going to send you any more Christmas cards!

    Very cool!
A friend of mine has one (sans bender), and it is an amazingly well made instrument.
    Congratulations!

If your aunt wanted you to have it so badly I wouldn't have it refinished, just have the bender swapped to a G bender.

This story sounds like an episode of The Twilight Zone.

The context for this one doesn’t even matter. No explanation would ever be sufficient

Yeah I'm not sure I'm following the story line on this one either. Congratulations on getting a great guitar. You gotta post pics when you get it.
