    None of the above.

Wampler Ego. Clean, Great sustain. You can lyrically pick up a good used one for about $125.

I have been all about the Keeley comp since I got it. It's straight up my favorite pedal.

I’m sure the Origin Effects compressors are nice, but the OP could buy all three of the ones he’s considering and a pack of strings for the price of a used Cali 76.

I’m just trying figure out how he destroyed his old one!

Hey OP~ branch out of the old Ross type. Try a good opto comp like the very reasonably priced and killer sounding DOD 280, or one of the awesome clones of the Orange Squeezer circuit.

DOD 280 Reissue punches above it’s weight for sure and works equally well on Bass too...

I am hoping that the Cali ‘76 will be the final for me. Others suggested are pretty good, I like TC Hyper Gravity, Boss CS-2, Xotic SP. Comp is like OD, you have to search and spend some time with them. If you have a pretty good idea of how and where you will run the thing, it may narrow your search into classes. If you have no idea, I would suggest the Hyper Gravity as it can do a bit of everything and once you find out how you like to use a comp, you can optimize for that role, however the HG is awesome. I would suggest the full size model as it allows for more knob assignments to tweak. All comps will raise the noise floor but you don’t want to get one that adds its own noise on top. Maybe you can give us some details? Do you play slide? Acoustic? Mostly clean stuff? Main guitar single coils? Etc. Watching thread!

Sushi Box Deep Dish tube compressor, leveling amplifier. Small tube 12AU7 and 12AT7 in pedal format. It’s basically an Effectrode clone. Mmmmm.

The more you spend, the quieter they get. Keeley as a minimum IMO.

I got the Effectrode PC-2A compressor over Christmas and it was an incredible difference from anything I’ve ever used. Worth every penny.

I was trying to change its led from red to blue.so when I did it the pedal when it's on lost any effect and when it's of it effects only volume.

So in trying to put out the blue and put back the red one I damaged one of two traces.
And not only that.my little son climb up on my desk and throw away the board.so I have an smd broken. Don't know if it can be restored and how much it will cost

I’ve been through a lot of comps. Currently using the EHX Tone Corset. I love it. I’m seriously crazy about it.

+1 on the Wampler. I have tried many comps, and it's the only one that stayed on the board.

A note on quiet comps-- a compressor will amplify signal noise from whatever comes before it in the chain. If your cable and your guitar have noise, the comp will be noisy.

Pedals with a mix knob (such as the Wampler) allow you to dial out some of the compressed signal, making it quieter. Given that, I have had other pedals with mix knobs -- Philosopher's Tone, Xotic SP, and TC Hypergravity, maybe others). The Wampler is the quietest I have had and sounds the best to my ears.
