Saw this this morning, and couldn't get my head around it - the cone was inside-out, facing downwards to the right.

Had to shut my eyes and then refocus several times before I could get it to look normal, facing upwards to the left.

Even now it can invert easily with a blink....Am I just having a bad day, or do others see it as a convex cone with a concave dome ?

I came in here at first and saw how you could see it, but I didn't see it. Then I came back in to say I couldn't see it, but I saw it.:eek:o_O

I don't see it, but then I'm no good with stereograms, either.

Yup, if you perceive the speaker to be firing downward, then it looks inverted. Firing upwards and it looks normal.

But when I first glanced, I saw it inverted. Weird.

    Cheers,

Sometimes a freak-of-nature mutant pigdog is actually just a little chihuahua.

Which is a freak of nature ;)

A real mind blower is an optical illusion that creates the perception of movement where there is none. This is a classic version of this concept. Notice that things settle down if you stare at a single point in the image. As soon as you start moving your eyes around, things start spinning again. Fascinating stuff.

I can see it both ways. I think you defaulted to seeing the light source from the right, instead of the left, which favors the convex image. It could be, the text color and position suggested the light source from the right, like a focal point. But instead, the light source on the speaker is from the left.
