If you had to eliminate one pedal from your board what would it be?

there's a pedal that doesn't get nearly enough props on this page... the sonic stomp. once you get a taste for that thing... it is VERY hard to part with! three years later and i still have those nasty sonic stomp withdraw symptoms...

I am pared down already. If its not in use it doesn't stay long. I have a box if abut 10 pedals that are in the storage bin for this reason.

I prefer playing straight into the amp, but it's very rare that I can get it loud enough to sound any good (Blackstar Artisan 15). My board consists of:

    TC Electronics polytune
    Wah wah
    Lovetone "Brown Source" clone
Blackstar something - or- other valve overdrive pedal
Mooer delay (this is new ... not sure how long it'll last once I've got fed up of doing Brian May impressions!)
    Myrtle "Gravy Dinner" distortion

Of all these, I'd dump the Blackstar. It's only there so I can get overdrive at low volumes, and I've just ordered myself a Reason Bambino (8 watts switchable to 2) which should address that. The Blackstar pedal makes a lot of noise but it just gets lost in the mix.

    Wah
I've been trying to eliminate it for a while now, as I close in on the old "guitar straight into amp" set up I dream of, but have not the balls to do.

The next one to go would be the Barber Tone Press. I use it as an always on type thing . It does make it sound better ( for lack of better words).

At my gig on Saturday night I set it up as a volume boost and didn't touch it all night . I wonder if it needs to go.

How do you utilize that many delays?

My wah could easily go, I never use it with purpose or confidence.

I use all mine, although i used to substitute a fuzzface type for a TB type depending on how i was liking one or the other. these days either/or "pure" type have been replaced by one of a number of hybrid fuzzes which have elements of both types and play with wahs better.. other than that, i run a muff type, couple OD's one for boost, one higher gain, a wah and a delay. I used to have a distortion on the board, "just 'cause", but i've ben using the amps distortion with the aforementioned boost for a kick. Somtimes it goes back on for a different flavour though.

yeah, could probably kick the distortion off if i really had to

I agree. If my mom is on the pedal board, I would take her straight off. You're out of order, mom!

Univibe... love the idea of it, but in reality it never gets used.

I've already booted down to bare essentials. Can't go any further.

GE-7 > MHP Evelyn Dual Drive > MHP 72 Degrees > Boss FBM-1 reverb > Radial Bigshot ABY switcher

I'd eliminate the Chorus of course. (at least until Member's Only jackets and Mullets come back in style)

I just have Tuner, Bad Bob and Reverb. I could lose Reverb in a live situation.

I only use fuzz, reverb & tremolo

If I had to whittle that down even more, then the tremolo would have to go.
