If you had to battle a roman gladiator in an arena, which guitar would be your best bet?

You are in chains. You're hungry and the only way out is fight 10 lions or 1 gladiator. He has a sword and a shield. Before you step on to the area grounds, you are brought before a big box music store's guitar wall. You can pick one. Which is it?

Are they bolt on? I'm leaning towards a Reverend with 6 bolts at the neck. I'm afraid of just holding a neck after the first clash of weapons.

I like the way you think. The problem is after the fight, even if you survive, no one will acknowledge you were there. But it's possible that if the gladiator sings, he won't even notice you until it's too late.

a flying V would be useful if you have time to sharpen the ends before you go out. You could stab and catch a sword between the tines.

A Travis Bean should be a wise choice.

Very fun thread btw: thanks for the good laugh!

A Hello Kitty Strat. The pink one.

It would appeal to my opponent's latent proclivities and he'd focus less on me and more on decorating the arena with some colorful throw pillows and fresh flowers. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

As he's distracted by fluffing the pillows, I'd make my escape.

One of those Travis Bean metal ones, it could probably hold an edge a long time.

I wouldn't be reaching for any guitar. Even a Norlin Les Paul would be matchsticks after one blow from one of those almost broadsword things they chopped each other up with.
