That happened to me with Jim Croce and Harry Chaplin. Both never made it back.

I have seen many of the legendary greats. However, I would like to see Tony T.S. McPhee, because I have been a groundhogs fan for years and have never seen them live. If they ever toured the US, I didn't hear about it or else I would have been there.

I was lucky and saw him once, thanks to the Moody Blues having him as their opening act.

I saw him with Al DiMeola and John McLaughlin.
    The great Steve Morse opened.

I saw Grappelli twice, first with Martin Taylor and John Etheridge in 1979 at the Armadillo, and in 1991 at the Paramount with Bucky Pizzarelli.

I saw Doug twice, he rocked!
Nice guy too, I once sold him a stereo system at my day job, in 1977.

    I saw SRV three times.
First with Paul Ray & The Cobras, at Antones on Guadalupe St., Denny Freeman was also playing guitar, in 1977.
Second at the Rome Inn in 1978.
    Last was Aquafest in 1987.
He was great, relentless, and a fine singer!

I would have to choose Jimi or Duane, because I never got to see them in concert

    Jimmy Page.
I know most people here don’t like him. I don’t care. The question was not the best guitar player, or your favorite guitar player, it was who would you want to see live. Seeing Led Zeppelin live in their prime would be mythic.

I've seen Danny Gatton, Tommy Emmanuel, Sharon Isbin and Redd Volkaert.
    All absolute masters!
You can still see Tommy Emmanuel, Sharon Isbin and Pete Townshend.
I assume Pete is still up for another Farewell Tour;).
    Cool list, thanks for posting!
