Steve Rothery. I hope Marillion's first visit to NC a couple years back wasn't their last, since I wasn't able to go.

I lucked out and saw Chuck. I was a sophomore in high school. My grandparents had tickets and my grandfather wasn't feeling well so my grandmother took me, I remember I sort of knew who he was but not really. That was a life changing concert.

I was lucky and saw SRV twice. Second time was a month or so before he died. Like you, I'd figured I'd see him many more times.

That is a real tough call Bill !!! :)

I've seen many of what we consider to be the greats because I was a young guitar player back in '60s and '70s and little old Cleveland Ohio back then was one of the best live music cities in the country.

I've seen so many of greats already mentioned by others, and I'd love to see them again especially now with my more mature appreciation for their talent.

So it would have to be someone that I wasn't lucky enough or old enough to have seen.

Honestly - and considering the fact that we are just dreaming anyhow, I think I'd like it to be a surprise appearance ;).

I think that would be the best and most enjoyable :).

One and only one Dead or Alive? Find it peculiar I was the first to mention him in this thread, and I show just the pic, you know who it is:

I suppose if you wanted to go back a ways, I can only imagine what they would have done if they chose not to fly that day.

    Buddy Holly
    Ritchie Valens
    The Big Bopper
    Lynyrd Skynyrd
    Jim Croce

Seeing Rory or Koss again would be very appealing ... but I'll choose Peter Green.

For those saying Zappa, I saw him live in one of his last tours. I hadn't listened to much Zappa, but friends were superfans, so I went. After that night I was also a fan. It's still the best non-jazz/classical performance I've seen. (As an aside, before the show started a guy in our row passed out in front of me. I helped his friends pick him up, and they carried him out. I wonder if that guy and his friends know what kind of show they missed).

Anyway, for my pick I'll go with Charlie Christian, as there are so few recordings of him.
