That’s how I feel about two of my Rics (620 & 4003). They are so minty that I freak out even touching them. The third, a 360, has been played a lot and has some scratches and dings. I love that guitar!

I keep contemplating selling the 4003, but a new American Professional Precision bass costs almost as much.

My local guitar shop has this for sale.. if only I have $4k to drop on a guitar. Must be one of the best looking wood grain IMHO:

I see you grabbed that photo from the Sweetwater site. Funny, but I'm sitting here playing one I bought from SW. This is the best Tele I have ever owned. It sounds great un-plugged. R103443-angle-large.jpg

I've got the sea foam one. Yes, really loving it now. I don't use the S1 switching as much as I thought I would, but that extra position is great fun.

What a cool guitar! You're fortunate to have one.

There are folks here who advocate for a specific CS model. There are others who think ordering the guitar of your dreams is the way to go. Others say buy off the rack (or hanger as the case may be). My experience is with a CS Strat but what I have to say applies to any CS guitar. I would never have ordered my CS Strat the way it came, and that goes for way more relic than I would have thought I'd like. I had no idea that a 6 screw bridge is a little more sensitive than a two screw bridge and I didn't know that the bridge cover I love only is available on a 6 screw bridge. I never had one. I'd never have thought of a reverse angle bridge pickup. I'd never have considered CS'69 pickups which I now love because 60 cycle noise drove me mad on my other single coil guitars. Better shielding on CS guitars, underwound pickups? I have no idea but I can barely hear the hum. My point is, don't order anything without playing enough CS guitars to at least know what you like best. In looking, you may find something that's just perfect for you. Ordering a very expensive guitar based on a hunch about what will work for you may get you a guitar you love or lead to disappointment. There are a lot of used CS guitars in the boutique shops that carry them. Did you ever wonder why? Also, you may find that one of those preowned guitars is exactly right for you. You'll avoid the wait and save $1000. Weigh that against disappointment and a big loss. If you must have a new MasterBuilt, at least you'll know what to ask for. This may be one of those rare cases where my 2 cents is worth a little more than the coins.

I custom ordered this in 2011. It’s my #1 Tele. I was torn between colors. I chose vintage white which is supposed to be like a yellowed aged white but I also considered LPB and white blonde.

I have considered ordering a LPB Thinline with the same neck specs as the one pictured. It would have a neck humbucker and a dark rosewood fretboard.

over the years, i've had a couple CS Teles, more than a couple '52 Reissues, and a Baja. i bonded with all of them. really, i'd be hard pressed to call any of them #1, they've all been so great in their own way. i've also had a couple CS Strats, and i hated them. i liked my old MIM Jimmy Vaughan much better.

A good experience showing that even a comparatively low cost MIM (or partscaster) can be every bit as pleasing and satisfying to a guitarist as a multi-thousand dollar custom shop guitar. Personally, I have no doubt of that whatsoever.

it's not that i dislike Stratocasters, either. it's that the two CS models i owned were GARBAGE. i dunno what was getting smoked in the factory the day they were made, but it was not tobacco.
