    Easy. An Esquire.

If you change the rules to say I can't pick that because it uses 90 percent of the same parts as a Tele...then I pick a Les Paul Junior, original single cutaway style.

Next on the list would be a Les Paul Special, original single cutaway style.

Then a '50s style Strat, with '50s style wiring and pickups.

If I can pick my color too, I'll go with white, on any of these. Either opaque or translucent would be fine.

    Les Paul Jr.

Assuming it would ever be made, since the Telecaster was the reason that Gibson ever made a solid body guitar in the first place.

Yes indeed; sadly the 311 has been out of production for several years now. A shame really seeing as the Tele format is being built by so many other manufacturers. I'm sure they would sell well if reintroduced; I'd buy one, being a long-term Yamaha fan.

I guess historically there would no les Paul’s or solid body Gibson’s until later as Fender inspired the industry to adopt the concept of a mass produced solid body electric.

I think players would have gravitated to Danelectro’s or something similar.

I would have to say my Les Paul Special is my favourite and is almost all the best parts of Tele

A Danelectro DC-59, or a Gretsch Duo Jet. Both get twangy.

Life without a Telecaster is unimaginable. Thank heaven we'll never know what it would be like with no Fender.

If there wasn't such thing as Fender, I'd just keep playin' the old Gretsch.

If no fender than no partscaster as well.
Scenario reminds me of that Beatles movie that came out awhile ago.
Where only like 3 people on earth remember them and this one musician
Makes a killing singing their songs.
I'd probably have one of these. Probably couldnt play it as well as sheldon..lol

Those Streamliners are great value. My favourite is the G2420.

I really wanted a P90 guitar, but the Epiphone was out of stock, and I wanted a blue guitar ...

I'm very happy with the Gretsch...
