Tremendous! Saw Killing Joke recently, they've still got it.
For me the 80's are split- 1980-1985 and 1985-1989.
1980-1984 has to be 'Jump' by Van Halen
1985-1989 has to be 'Sweet Child O Mine' by Guns N Roses
You can keep your synthy, puffy-shirted, half-sucked-mango-seed haircut wearing pop-music thanks.
Birth, School, Work, Death - The Godfathers (1988)
Anything by Husker Du
Master of Puppets - Metallica
Back in Black - AC/DC
But there are loads really.
We listened to a lot of the same stuff, Roman!
Husker Du is the reason I got myself an Epi Korina V (couldn't get an Ibanez Rocket Roll).
My flatmates and I had a ritual where we'd sing along with Camouflage every evening before we ate.
How can we forget . .
And what I've always considered to be the most perfectly constructed pop song ever.
RomanS nailed it for me, though I have to add this one:
I actually loved this song. I'm a big tone tweaker and I love my sauce and sizzle. This definitely works for me.
My time and place in the 80's summed up- Bon Jovi-Living on a prayer
That explains everything!
More 80's music:
This one totally summed up a lot of the fashions in the 80's.
isnt jump just a smidgen away from that which you despise
roth wore some ridiculous outfits
their hair cuts werent that great
that keyboard eddie played was a synth
Lots of interesting Alt-Folk in the 80's.
Rap was also the sound of the 80's.
That's some good suff there RomanS.
Lots of great music in the 80s. I think the decade gets bad rap. Even the bad stuff is no worse than the s--t from any other decade.
Ok, a serious "duh" moment:
That song pretty much defines the 80s, perfectly.
the 80's started with "call me " from Blondie`
I remember alot of the music from the 80's but i really have a hard time remembering any music from the 90's or 2000's. Nothing really stands out.
Remember this guy? I have to say he has a great voice.
Not the soundtrack of the 80's, just a good one I've been listening to today
Left of Centre, Luka , Marlene on the wall, Toms Diner...
Suzanne Vega, she did the 80's... some interesting songs...
These videos remind me why I really don't care for most eighties machine-created, over-produced music. Horrible. And so are the videos.
