How is this news and what does the fact that she is a flight attendant have to do with anything? Not fake news, just not news.

A Les Paul Custom would also be pretty deadly.

....agreed, yes. But I suspect the tele would be more likely to survive the blow and still be useful as both a guitar and a weapon again.

I wonder if it was a family heirloom pre-war Gibson or something like that. He deserved it but the guitar didn’t.

I think that falls into the category of "prurient interest." It's a category of news that usually unites us in a shared derision or general mocking of the subject(s) and the choices they make. Florida Man would be another example, Darwin Awards a third.

After she smashed the guitar, did she hand the remains of the neck to her husband and say, "Sorry..."

It's still a reporting fail. All we know is it was an "acoustic guitar". I need a brand! I need the police pic of the guitar!

Roy Buchanan once beat off a mugger with his telecaster on the way to a gig. Apparently he often didn't use a case or gigbag...just went off with the guitar over his shoulder.
    Weapon at the ready...

    The guy was a "bartender/fitness instructor"......so, probably a Yamaha or Washburn......NOT a Taylor or pre-war Martin. ;)
