Snow I can handle, we get it rarely. I never want to live through another ice storm. At about 1/4" inch of ice on the trees, limbs begin to break. Power out for who knows how long. Freezing rain is the worst. One year it damaged my roof pretty badly; ice creeps up under the shingles.

Very nice @Jakedog. Gotta love the changing of the seasons. Our highs will be below freezing for the next week, so crispy air for splitting wood ... my favorite late fall thing to do.

It is beautiful to look at, but Ima stick with my Houston weather. @Jakedog, what ever happened to that guitar invention you were talking about awhile back? Never heard how that turned out.

Certainly now that you find it's already been done, you wouldn't mind sharing...

Although it may be beautiful, I already can’t wait for spring. So far in Central Illinois we’ve only had a light dusting and that was in mid-October. That was enough for me for the entire winter.

Hey blowtorch, are you saying Ed Gein is alive and well? I heard that he was an amazing cook.

nah he's been gone since the mid 80s.
and, the house hasn't stood there since some carny bought it back in the 50s and had plans to turn it into a macabre museum.

It mysteriously caught fire shortly after one night, and somehow it took the village fire dept hours to get there (about 5 miles out of town)

I only live probably 20 miles south of @Jakedog (I am guessing). We got about the same. I had to take the Boy for an eye appointment, since the wife does not like to drive in snow.

Yahoo! I love snow driving. Dump the clutch and get those Goodyears spinning! I had a blast going there. Unfortunately, by the time we came home, the streets were just wet.

I saw that big purple blob spinning up towards the mitten and then - it slowed down and went East ! Success .

we got an inch maybe and it should be gone tomorrow .

this is winter #4 of “I hate winter !”. It’s like somebody flipped a switch.

I need a support group/12 step meeting or something

    Jake, just to be clear-

You are welcome back to our beautiful state, anytime you choose.

To the rest of you- you wouldn't like it one bit, it's cold all the time and we have hodags

I just walked across the sidewalk, down the driveway, which is about 80 feet long, in four inches of snow and slush, got the mail, and returned in shorts, a t-shirt, and bare feet. Do you really think the threat of cold will slow me down?

I think Wisco sounds wonderful in the winter!
