It looks like Lake Placid Blue to me especially in the later standing shots.
I love LPB... it can be ambiguous both in person and especially in pics, sometimes appearing darker then lighter.
Additionally the outer lacquer clear coat of some Fender production runs can yellow over time giving greenish notes. It looks like yours has not yellowed particularly but faded a little.

And BTW it looks great! :)

Looks like LPB to me. It's a very subtle metallic. And contrary to popular opinion the poly topcoat does brown with age. That also makes the colour coat metallic less apparent. Not as much or as fast as nitro but age it does. That does look like it was painted using a flattened piece of conduit screwed to the neck, which is corerec for that era.

    Cool guitar BTW.

Thanks! I first also thought it was Lake Placid Blue, but there is really no sign of metallic in it. That makes me still uncertain...

Yes it does LOOK like Lake Placid Blue but in my humble opinion it didn't turn out right. LPB , my lust after guitar, is a slightly shade lighter.

It looks to me like Maui Blue, a color used for the international series in 1981.

How they called this color in 1968, I don't know.

To me it looks like LPB (aged).

Whatever shade of blue it is, it’s a really nice colour and tele.

On second thought, I have to go with Lake Placid Blue. If you zoom in on the second picture with the neck pickup you can see a hint of metallic in the finish. LPB’s metallic is subtle to begin with.

Looks a lot more like Ice Blue Metallic to me than it does LPB, Throw in 50 years of aging and I can't really say.
