    Hi folks!
Saturday I went in my prefered instrument shop and try it. I was fascinated by semi hollow from different time.
This thing sounds incredibly: very acoustic, but it sounds incredibly well also with big muff or Rat pedals!
To me it's incredible! And despite its pups that are ceramic: no compression, no high coiling, but vintage tone (i thought it was not possible).
So, I'm extremely satisfied, guitar is magnificent with a beautiful neck. I'm very happy with my Christmas gift.

Ibanez does make some really nice guitars. You certainly found a good one. Real pretty too.

Very nice guitars for the price. After looking through my guitar collection, most are Ibanez now. They just kind of creeped up on me. Nice top on that one.

Nice guitar! And there is nothing wrong with ceramic pickups. That top looks really nice.

I really like the finish, great looking axe. If I ever get another hollow body, this will be on my radar.

Here is my as73g. It is an amazing instrument.

I swapped the pickups for hb sized p90s.

I like it way better now.

I don't think the "alnico vs. ceramic" thing applies here; it's more a matter of pickups that best accentuate the hollow characteristics of the instrument. I had an Ibanez Artcore with stock ceramics, and I replaced them with alnico humbuckers and they completely changed the sound of the instrument - gone was the semi-hollow tone, replaced with a good Les Paul-type sound...which sounded great but nothing like a semi-hollowbody. Evidently, the stock pickups were matched to the instrument and magnet type was not a consideration (except possibly for cost savings).

Now I have a Peavey semi-hollow guitar with stock ceramics and I'm leaving them there. I'm thinking Peavey (like Ibanez) knows what they're doing.

P.S. I know I've posted this photo before, but I just got this thing and I'm in love with it. It's HOT.

I agree. By sounding the guitar I find the pups correct for the general hollow characteristics
