You could always choose to go to the sub-forums that you're truly interested in. I generally don't post in the Bad Dog Cafe section, but this seems to be the proverbial change the channel reality.

I don't like to be a part of the grammar police, but you keep referring to a thread as a tread. You started this thread...it's not a tread. Treads are for tires. A thread is for sewing and chatrooms are the internet's equivalent of a sewing circle hence the concept of a thread. For someone who who doesn't even like the BDC, you certainly have created quite a yarn.

Kind of like, what you just typed here? When we start asking others to take control of what we do, the outcome is most often disastrous.
I would much rather help you solve the old, "which pickguard looks best" question, or entertain one more "maple vs rosewood" thread. At least those types of inquiries invite the participation of others. Kinda like, what this forum is about.

Sorry if this comes off a little snarky. Not my intention. But there's just no gentle way to make the point. I'm attempting to help by bringing clarity to the subject. Not sarcasm.

I certainly understand and empathize with your concerns.....but as far as pickguards and fingerboard woods, we've already determined definitively that Tortoise p/guards LOOK best.....and Rosewood sounds and feels best. We can just put that on a perpetual loop. ;)

Sounds like you probably need to get a National Enquirer paper route.

    LOL. Yup.

The one, and perhaps most important thing about forums like this is that, new people come here all the time. Sure, they can do a search so as not to bore the elders, but that's just not very friendly or interactive. They deserve the same consideration we all had when we were new and asked these "questions of the ages!"

    I still answer them.

Hey, this is family. The Bad Dog is a place we can set down our guitars, pop a brew and just loiter for a break from practice, songwriting and/or recording.

However, I guess this means we can all talk about you behind your back now.

Thanks for pointing that out. That's a typo. My bad!

I need to find out whats worse, making a typo in a foreign language or not noticing it's a typo when you're a native speaker.

    It's interesting.

I wrote that I would like a way to filter content, and now it's starting to feel like I'm back in that other forum where bickering is the norm.

You see why I would like to filter it out from the start?

Hahahaha! Kind of reminds me of the old Rodney Dangerfield routine:

    Doctor: "You've got gout."
Rodney: "I want a second opinion."
    Doctor: "Okay, you're ugly too."

For the first several years of lurking on the site, I didn't even realize the Bad Dog existed because my bookmark took me directly to the "Forums" page. From there I chose which forums I wanted to look at. Once I discovered that the "Home" page gave me a digest each day, I used that, and I'm glad because I got to see the Bad Dog posts, which I find very entertaining and informative, and also, I've lost weight and my teeth are whiter.

Seriously, just bookmark the forums you like to see, and always use your bookmark. Or, bookmark the "Forums" page instead of "Home." You still have to do some of the work, but a little effort is good for you.

Hari Seldon, I find this sort of th8ng in every forum. Thread titles can be misleading, and other than the obvious controls and restriction there is little control over what someone will post in any thread. Now, explain to me where the true Foundation is?

Interestingly...from Wikipedia on your ‘namesake’...”One key feature of Seldon's theory, which has proved influential in real-world social science,[3] is the uncertainty principle of sociology: if a population gains knowledge of its predicted behavior, its self-aware collective actions become unpredictable.”

Yes. Hence a year of free burgers for a tattoo. TDPRI and Bad Dog Cafe get it, ok?
