I wish the bad dog cafe could be blocked.

Nothing against some small talk, sometimes I go there, too, but when I count how often I've been interested in a thread by it's title and then it's only chitchat and my time and interest are wasted.

It would be a great thing being able to block bad dog cafe entries in the new thread/new post areas or leaving them out from the start.
Those who like to chat there can go there anyway.

What you can do is go to this page,
    https://www.tdpri.com/forums/
and click the forums you are interested in without checking the new posts column. When i first became a member, i only visisted the tips and tabs forum. I never checked the new posts thingie.

Back there on TGP (oh those days...) there was a function where you could block the forums you never wanted to read. Very helpful. Since it's the same forum software, it could be implemented.
And this is only a personal preference, so it doesn't change anything for guys saving the world.

You could say that about most of the forums. In “cafes” the conversation is frequently “chit chat”. Some times thread titles may lead to an “all sizzle but no steak” experience and sometimes it’s the exact opposite. It’s classic “you can’t judge a book by its cover.”

There’s a simple solution for you. Don’t visit the “Bad Dog Cafe” since it bothers you. I avoid the DIY forums because they bore the hell out of me.

You can’t block content just because it bothers you. The mods block content if it violates the rules. Sometimes it helps to have a thick skin. Sometimes it’s wise to “ignore” a member. Sometimes it’s best to not click on a thread.

No, I guess I didn't express myself clearly. I have no problem with the bad dog cafe at all.
What's bothering me are thread titles that are misleading, like "Tonewood question" or the like.

    It's still a 1st world problem.

You can see the forum a post is in from the lists before you click it... can quickly assess if its noise or relevant to a topic.

i suppose you could just train yourself over a couple of days to scan new post titles for Bad Dog posts and skip them.

It’s a German thing isn’t it. So how our mild banter “ reduces your daily efficiency?”
Come on man, lean back with a tall frothy one and take a trip without the kids with the rest of us into Bad dog Cafe land. Leave your troubles behind.

    I don't care for McDonalds.
(And this is just me, okay? No judgement on anybody else who loves their fast food.)

So what I do is, I drive right on by.
I don't pull in there and order.

    It's a technique.
