Here's "Lucky." She's been rode hard and put up wet, but she sounds fantastic. I just love this guitar!

I am not a fan of "reliced" Teles but I am a fan of RELIC Teles ... Like yours!

So ... Are those cigarette burns up on the headstock .... Where the E/e stings were used to hold a smoke a little too long?.. :)

I'm up to date on all my shots fellas.:D

I got this guitar from my good friend Dave Hinson at Killer Vintage. It came out of the St. Louis blues bars. What's great about guitars like this one, the second you see them, you just know they sound great!

What's the shape of the neck?

    Allen,

It's a 10/55, so its got a killer mild V neck on it. 56's are my favorite Fender necks, and if you held this one, and a quintessential 56 neck, there wouldn't be any noticeable difference.
Fits my hand like an old glove.

I wonder if a couple reasons guitars this age are so worn are:

    1) Not very many hobby players buying guitars. Active musicians had guitars like this and played them.

    2) Players probably only had one guitar, so it was played all the time. A recent TDPRI poll showed the average responder owned three guitars if I remember correctly. So take the hours this guitar was played and divide by three. It would still be worn but surely less so.

I am both 1+2 so will never create a guitar like this because I own and play three guitars as a hobby, meaning about 10 hours a week or three hours each. Your guitar was probably played 3-4 hours a day minimum.

I don't see well, is that the original pickguard? It looks newer to me. Fantastic axe either way. The stories it could tell!
