Sorry, maybe that was a bit too cryptic.
I'm the boomer, reacting to the general concept of taking off for ones birthday.......
But of course- happy birthday!
So you're a lot younger... just go ahead and rub it in.
Another 15 or 20 years stuff is really gonna start to hurt.

Happy Birthday! It' a great age...I can hardly wait to get there. I'll be 39 for the 25th time this year !
40 is a great time in life - enjoy it! I’d say mid-30’s through early 50’s were my best years. I turned 40 and felt 25, was in the best shape of my life, my career was in full swing, my wife and I were through the hard early years of raising kids, we were still good looking and horny - just kind of firing on all cylinders. It was all still really great when 50 hit, by then I felt like I was 30-35, which is still a great way to feel. I was still in great shape. Mid to late 50’s is when my wife and I started developing some health issues - not serious, but some straight up reminders that things were starting to decline and we were NOT kids anymore. When I turned 60, I felt 60. Not terrible, not bad, but clearly not young, not like things were still getting better. Life’s become a bit of a daily management exercise, good but not firing on all cylinders anymore - the engine’s running a little rougher. I realize every great day is a limited resource, because not all of them are.
So enjoy it immensely - it’s a GREAT time and it can last a while if you’re lucky, but it doesn’t last forever. But you’re old enough to appreciate how good it is, so drink it in bro! It really doesn’t get much better than being young enough that you’ve still got it and old enough to really appreciate what you’ve still got!
That's spot on my experience of turning 60 I've though about getting a pool for hydrotherapy, but mortgage worry has me stuck in time.
I wanted to ask the young fellar did you get any presents?
A belated Happy Birthday. I remember turning 30 bothered me much worse than turning 40.
Anyway, I’ll take being 40 again in a heartbeat, and I’ll be much smarter this time around.
Wow. Virtually all grown up. Happy Birthday!
Since everyone is reflecting on their own decades-
For my 30th, I failed my eye test upon license renewal. Felt a bit like a kick in the.....
40 and 50 were a cruise. Life was pretty good over all.
I recently turned 60. The physical stuff gets me to thinking about the reality of it all. It even emerges in my dreams. Chronic pain I am used to. But the reality of things like knee and spine problems that are serious and can only get worse from here wear on me.
I described the feeling around my birthday as- "now I feel like I am getting the hang of this, but am too tired to do it!" Kind of general mood.
but no choice but to maintain forward momentum. Keep moving.
I won't hit 40 again until my next life. Happy Birthday. Keep enjoying yours. Keep an eye on your daughter's boyfriend. You were that age once.
Happy Birthday! ........but slow right down!
Just been thinking. I am in my eightieth year. Forty years ago I was forty times older than you - or thereabouts. Now, I am only twice as old as you are.......or thereabouts.
You have to slow it right down my friend ....... You are catching up a lot faster than you think.
Hmmmm. Just put the brakes on a bit.
