I currently have two 356 builds, one 69 Thinline build and a full acoustic build going. I made a template for an SG about a year ago and it has sat. Tuesday a really nice piece of old Honduran mahogany came into my possession, well I could not help myself, I planed it down and rough cut it out. That is 5 builds going at once, I think I need some therapy, this has officially gone off the rails.

You don’t need therapy. I’ll bet Ron Kirin and Bill Crooks have way more than 5 builds going at any given time.

I have built an average of two guitars each year for the past 13 years. I spend a lot of time thinking about what I want to build and why, exactly what I want it to look and sound like. I've got wood stashed away for future projects that I might not even get to in this life time. We obviously build for different reasons.

For me, building a guitar is therapy.

Perhaps the problem here is that the rest of us don't have 5 builds going at once and you are the only sane person here

I'm going to go with Freeman Keller and say this probably IS your therapy...now if you haven't been DOING your therapy...THAT'S a problem. Get in the shop and get busy before your spouse or another family member has you committed!!!

I work from home 4 days a week. I am in IT. It is hot upstairs in my office. Mr. I need therapy wisely moved his “office” to the basement last week. on top of my workbench. Telling the wife that it is way cooler. Is it wrong that I work on my therapy as I make my living?!?!? Does that make me a therapist

If you build every size and shape guitar this week, what are you going to do next? Lutherie is a life long journey, take your time, enjoy each stroke of the plane, caress the wood, smell it, enjoy the trip. I actually find it kind of sad when I finish a guitar and put the chisels away, but then a whole new voyage starts as I play it and listen to it open up and learn that its no longer a tree.

Don't let your wife read this mate: divorce petition material

'caress the wood' indeed. You're gonna go blind if you keep doing that

I enjoy every bit of the build. I like to work on one for a bit then put it away and work on another. I will probably finish maybe two this year. The Thinline and the acoustic. The others will slowly come along. I never hurry. It truly is therapy for me. I am the guy that actually likes to print plans on legal paper and piece them together to make full size plans. I could just pay to have them printed. What fun is that. Hello, I am Randy and I am an addict.

    Mr Gibson, Mr Gibson.
That man has a piece of wood that is almost the same shape as one of your guitars.

I'm thinking of doing my next inlay for headstock as "Agnesi" in the Gibson font.

LMFAO, I have 11 going and 5 at any one time. Therapy? I'm certifiable but that's my best feature
