I think it was the mini-buckers that put me over the edge. Frequensator tailpiece says, "buy me now." Can't eat, can't sleep.
I have a 94' epi casino that I swapped in a frequensator on. It's great for playability.
Little pro tip: more string behind the bridge gives you a little more pull with your fingers. A looser feel. This means you can get away with a bigger guage on the lower strings. Get some of the custom sized stringjoy sets. I got one for my casino that basically tapers from a 9's on the high E to 12s on the low E. The action feels smooth and consistent across the strings, and there's a throatier attack on low notes. It's fun to play with.
I have heard about this - - I plan to get my hands on one of these this week. When sanity returns, who knows - - I might bring one home, or might continue the search for an ES type. But the videos I've seen on this one, with tone tests played directly into a slightly overdriven amp, kinda made me drool. I want to see what the neck's like.
I like a Riviera.
Both Buick and Epiphone.

Is it just more or are Epiphones getting better?
