This 1967 Antigua Coronado
There is no accounting for taste, I realize. But ick.
Antigua finishes can make even the best guitar designs look like total crap.
Oh no, now you've done it!
Once a year some opens the door to the Antigua lovers' padded room ..... and out they come!
Its like Zombie Dawn!
Edit: JMAN excluded^^
Yeah, Antigua is bad enough, but when you do the F-holes and the pickguard... triple ick.
Actually, that's the only Antigua I've ever seen that I like.
Must . . . eat . . . brains . . .
You can go back to sleep now.
I am looking at it with this sense: Man that is so ugly that its cool. I want one
I kinda like it!
It looks cheap... Haha
Tell ya what Bruxist (and anyone else for that matter), if you give me that Antigua-nado , I'll hand over a brand-new, plastic-y finish, American-made '52 reissue, with it's horrible, orange-y and skinny neck. With the case and all the crap.
Is that something you might be interested in ?
Who came up with that design, and more specifically.....why?
Come on...what about the Maverick:
Looks like an easy 12 string conversion with that headstock....
Antigua: so far past "so-ugly-that-it's-cool" that it reaches all the way around to ugly again.
Yup, that's pretty fugly.
I quite like this one. I hope it's not the slippery slope that leads to BC Rich.
So it like an really ugly reach-around!
The Maverick was a "floor sweep" model.
They take a parts inventory, figure out what they have too much of, and make a model out of those parts.
This little guy.
because he likes turtles
Here's another contender...
Late nineties Fender Will Ray Signature.
