I had to quit a former band because of some health issues. It was bass, drums, singer and guitar (me). There are no hard feelings and we're still friends. The three of them put a new band together with a couple of younger guitar players. They finally put some videos up on Youtube and I watched some of them. They're good, but in a more generic way, playing a more standard bar/club song list whereas the old band we had did some really cool and eclectic material that was unique for a 3+ piece band and for a band in this area. I'm sure they'll do well with this more accessible songlist but hearing them doesn't make me sad that I'm not still in the band. Best wishes for their success.

Maybe the audiences were not receptive to the more eclectic music? Lots of people these days don't really want to hear new or cutting edge music, but would rather just get plowed and listen to oldies.
Anyway, sounds like you made the right choice at the time, and it remains the right choice now.

Thanks. Yeah, the old band was doing modern pop, rock and even rap. We did very well where we did well but not so well in other places.
