"Double Nightmare" is more like it
I've got clint blacks insurance card put up...
I've seen pics of the red/black and black and yellow with cases from late 70's to early 80's era. The cases were stenciled pretty poorly in white and another was yellow paint. Looks more like the one in this pic as far as the paint goes.
I'm on an iPhone and can't see where you live. We should be friends!!! j/k.
Just even having such a rare beast, who cares who owned it.
@ the op. That's cool, and as long as you didn't pay any extra for the anecdotal hx, I'll believe with you
Hold on now; I'm having trouble with your syntax.
You are saying that EVH gave his Famous Black and Yellow Guitar to a guy, Dimebag, who is dead. I don't get it - why give a guitar to a dead guy?
No wait; that is not what you said at all. Basically you said "he ... gave ... his ... guitar <away> because he was deceased ..."
So it's Eddie that is dead.
Yet he still walks among us.
Thus, Eddie is a zombie.
Actually, this is in agreement with my own observations
Eddie had his Black & Yellow guitar (from the cover of VHII) buried with Dimebag.
tell me about it - when I burned in both the original and stripped down versions of my Double Fantasy CDs into my iPod, I only burned the John songs. Increased the playability by 1000%.
Wonder who might have my stuff? Oh crap, nobody cares.

Paul married New Yorker Nancy Shevell on 9 October 2011.
So, mercifully he's no longer available.
A local used music store had an amp that Carlos Santana sold them. It was a Fender Champ clone going for $100. I turned it down.
hmm.........lets see now........Paul is single........and Yoko is single.......................
You shoulda posted this on the "Tuesay truly disturbing pic thread." "Ahhhggreeemmmmarrrrghhrgrunnnggg," sound of me scrubbing my brain with a brillo pad trying to get the image of Yoko on their wedding night in daphne colored Depends, out of my head.
yea, I admit it, I an evil
That would be very cool if the case was legit. It makes for very good music conversation. I got a pick from Eddie at a concert here in town when they opened up for Black Sabbath on their first tour in 1978. I also got a drumstick from Alex that he threw out and later signed for me.
Definitely worthless! List it on ebay for no less than $2500.00 and see.
I have a soup-bone that was once chewed on by one of David Bowies dogs.
back to EVH's case.. if you google Tom Weber guitar tech, and email him I'm sure he can tell you if it was Eddie's case. He was his guitar tech for many..many..many years
OK, I'm in. I have Billy Idols guitar pick, got it back in the mid eighties. I wonder how he plays without it.
I have to agree with the guy who mentioned it looks like a modern vinyl sticker. The scratches seem to go under it, hmm. Cool old case though.
Peter Frampton rented a farm near my house circa 1980. After he vacated the place, my friends and I did some recon. We found several guitars hanging from trees all shot up. I liberated a holey Strat. It ended up in the trash during a spring cleaning. I wish I hadn't had done that.
