So about a week ago, I ordered a Jodi Head guitar strap, "Stella White" off of her store on Reverb. It was a pre-order so I figured they had to make it and I would see it in a couple weeks, according to estimated ship time on the reverb listing.

She called me today. "Hi, this is Jodi Head, can I speak with <my real name>"

After a bit of mild shock and remembering I had ordered the strap, she explains she currently doesn't have enough of the right color leather to complete the strap and offered some suggestions on how she could get it done on time, or if I could wait a few more days, she could finish it as shown in the listing.

I send her a picture of the guitar, tell her the strap is 25% of what I paid for the guitar (this one is embroidered on leather 3" strap,) so I'm being a bit overboard about it, but matching the colors was important, and I'd defer to her judgement.

She loves the guitar (the one in my avatar) and says it would be best to complete the strap as designed and it would be finished within a week.

Her guitar straps are not cheap and I think this is the second one of hers I will have, but the first leather one. Hats off to someone who still cares about doing business the right way.

I am not affiliated with her in any way except buying a strap and the conversation above. If you need a strap, give hers a consideration - she is wonderfully nice and genuinely cares.

Everyone is at the mercy of their vendors these days.
Gotta respect the effort to make everything right.

I have a couple of her straps. Great look and selection. Unfortunately, her designs change from year to year, and often you can't get one that you've seen from previous years.

Nice to hear. I will always be willing to go out of my way to give my business to a vendor who will actually communicate with me directly. For one thing, how much cooler is it to say “I bought this from that person right there” than “I bought this from that company headquartered there”?

Neat. I had no idea that Jodi Head was a real name.

That reminds me, I need a new camera strap.

Forgot to post the strap w/ the guitar. Here it is. These straps are very cool - you can tell that it is hand-made as opposed to some assembly line and it makes it all the more personal. I love the smell of "fresh cow" from the leather - never gets old.

Very nice. I have one with roses a lot like yours but on brown, on my favorite acoustic, very comfortable and good looking after 7 or 8 years at least.

Great story, great strap. I'm sure she'll see some new business as a result of this thread-the way it should be. Next time I need another strap she'll be the first call.
