Just for something different, how about one of the new Harmony Junos? The Juno comes with P-90s. USA made, nitro finished, and $1,200.

Hallmark Custom 60 or 65...the pickups are like P-90s on steroids. And not made of Balsa wood like a Gibson.
Here is my exact C60 from the store's website, right before I bought it.. 78616172_1376730909148841_49482721944141824_o.jpg

Saw a lot of Gibbys on this thread but here's a Fender. A bit pricey, which kept me from pulling the trigger, a signature Jim Atkins. Has Duncans, not Duncan Design, whatever that might mean.
Here's a vid for you and there are a few others by the same guy gives you a little more perspective about the guitar. Cheers

I’m actually glad you think so.

Because I’m tired of people thinking I’m crazy because I don’t believe a $500-$1000 guitar should need a fret level or nut slots fixed as part of a “setup” when it’s bought new. That’s what drives me nuts.

Ive never heard of it. But I’ve never played anything with the Larrivee name on it that I didn’t think was outstanding.

Pretty much, after you cross a certain price threshold certain basic things should not even be an issue
