...not so much for long grass, but to suck up some leaves left over from winter.

Yesterday, the lawn company came out and fertilized.

    Today, it is raining.

Let the spring slog of mowing non-stop begin - it will be raining here for the next few days, so it will be run out and mow any time it does not rain for 6 hours.

Artificial grass. I just sweep and vacuum mine, oh, and dog poo just washes right off.

Yup. Me too. Still using an electric mower, too. Bad choice on my part. But not buying anything new right now, and not likely to pay anyone. But as much as I hate yard work, it's one of the few physical stress relievers I have right now. It's a work out, and feels good to get done. Like getting a weekly lawn haircut.

I mow with an electric mower too. Works great unless you can’t mow for a couple weeks due to weather. Then you have to break out the gas one

    You can mow snow?

Just kidding, the snow here is retreating up the mountains, but the lawns are still asleep.

Been mowing here for a while. Electric mower was bought because when I was working out of town, wife and daughter complained they couldn’t start the gas mower. then I worked out of town, and my wife hired a service. Since I’ve been home, We canceled the service and I’ve had to mow every week. One week was tough, because the lawn was taller and wetter than normal.

Looking forward to driving the John Deere again. The trees are all red now (buds.)

I bet there's a warning label on the mower, saying do NOT do that.
Some mowers actually have a warning on them to not trim hedges or bushes with them. Why? Because in the past some idiot tried to do just that.

I mowed a week+ ago. Will do so again soon. Picking up broken branches etc is a big job this time of year too. I had a fire a week ago about 6 ft x 6 ft x 6 ft. I have stack that size ready again.
The mountain behind me looks just like BigDaddyLH's photo right now. Been cool at night still and a bit of snow up there.

I mowed the lawns & did the lawn feed & moss killer treatment last week on my lawns with the spreader, The moss has almost taken over one of the lawns , This treatment turns the lawns black as it kills the moss, The only downside of doing this is they will look terrible for 6-7 weeks but the grass always comes back thick & emerald green.

You feed it, you got to mow it. I'm on my way out the door now (well, in a few moments) to do some weed eating.

I got lucky and was able to mow all ten acres Saturday. If I don't get it in time it goes to hay and I end up with a field instead of a lawn.

I bought a reel lawnmower for my new postage stamp sized yard. I cut for the first time on Saturday...
    AA4FE037-9377-4BBE-B9D7-D67AC94595FA.jpeg

And cut a nice circle around the front yard tree. I felt bad removing some of our brand new grass. The landscapers last fall just dumped mulch under the tree and put down the grass seed. I think I cleaned it up nicely...

I also pulled the stray grass growing in the front bed...

I have a riding mower as well that I inherited from a friend who moved south. It's just too soft in the back to use it.

I had to pull apart and adjust the self propel cable to get mine to work. I did not want to do 60+ minutes of pushing while fighting a stuck mechanism. Fortunately, it just needed an adjustment and not a "fix'.
