    Amazing meatball parm sub at our favorite Sicilian pizzeria with an Innis & Gunn whiskey barrel ale (i.e. red label). Then, gelato at the place nearby that makes it in house from locally sourced ingredients. My tummy is happy and I’m content right now!

    I weighed in at 153 this morning, down from 192 last September. I had a small lunch and budgeted the calories, so I could splurge on dinner. And I’m very glad I did — Yum!

    A lot of kale in the garden, so the plan is kale, tofu and ???. Washing it down with sake! Will report back.

    You'll need at least 2 lbs. of bacon to season that.

    A can of black beans, chopped onion, green and red pepper, 1/2 can of Rotel, chili powder and cayenne simmered then eaten with a warm chunk of sharp Cheddar and two small flour tortillas. One of my favorite simple dinners. I usually add a full can of Rotel and tonight’s green pepper was from a local garden and a bit “overpowering”, shall we say, so it wasn’t my proudest such concoction.

    Picked up spicy chicken wings for my daughter and I. The kid can chow down on spicy wings like nobody's business! Nice to know I've passed something onto her. We're celebrating her amassing 10K followers on Tik-Tok which apparently is a milestone in that world. I just keep asking..."can we make money with it yet?" which always ticks her off but hey, that's my job!

    Report. Dinner got more elaborate. I was a mere sous chef:

    * kale & feta frittata
    * Japanese potato croquettes
    * tomato and arugula salad
    * green and yellow beans
    * peach crumble

    Ingredients from the garden:
    * kale
    * potatoes
    * tomatoes
    * green and yellow beans
    * green onions, basil

    Lots of local ingredients, too, including the peaches. Sorry, no bacon.

    Some restaurants in some states are allowed a certain number of patrons. Tonight, The Vietnam Village with an owner who fled through Cambodia in the late 70s. Best food I have ever eaten , as good as the real McCoy in Vietnam.

    YOU CAN DO IT. But you need to watch this, it's not too long and his philosophy is incredibly sound and grounded. Yes, he's a competitive eater, but he's been doing this for long and speaks directly to you. He won't talk about what to eat, just dieting philosophy that I think is critical and missing in most dieting plans.
