2003 Burns Steer (reissue)
My latest addition!
It’s a 1995 Les Paul Custom.
My Jazzmaster before Sweetwater shipped it to me...
Still at 18.
Five have gone, and five have taken their place.
I really should seek professional help.
My most recent. 2003 MIM Tele that had huge chunks of the original 3TS finish missing. I got lazy and refinished it with blue automotive spray paint. Probably swap out the guard at some point. I like it, just not with this color. Also added Fender USA staggered tuners and some graphite saddles I've had forever.
I'm digging your 4 pickup Tele - just curious, how do the switches work, regarding the pickup selections?
The pickups are Cavaliers:
Custom Nocaster "Ludicrous" Lion bridge
43awgs/A3mags wound to 13.3k!!
Two Tigers (tapped 15%) about 5.7k/6.7k
Lion King neck (stock wind, nickel cover)
Rob DiStefano makes the best!!!
It’s setup like a two humbucker guitar.
There are actually 3 switches.
Both 5-way switches work the same way.
The ‘blue’ switch operates the 2 bridge pups
From the most neckward position:
Bridge and Strat1 in paralell (Strat1 full coil)
Strat only (full coil)
Bridge and Strat1 in series (strat tapped 15% to avoid huge bass/volume boost)
The ‘red’ switch operates the 2 neck pups
From the most bridgeward position:
Neck and Strat2 in paralell (Strat2 full coil)
Strat only (full coil)
Neck and Strat2 in series (strat tapped 15% to avoid huge bass/volume boost)
There are twenty something combos between the two switches. I slap the volume knob (White push/push) and it bypasses everything and turns the neck pup on by itself. Slap it again and its back to whatever the switches are set to.
I use all the sounds when recording and about 6 or 7 with the band. My favorite sounds are:
Bridge and Strat in paralell (truly best of both and no woofyness)
Bridge and strat in series (VERY strong and midrangy)
Neck and Bridge
Neck, Bridge and Strat1 (para)
Neck and Strat2 series (sounds 335ish)
All this would drive most folks nuts, and, most folks think I'm nuts. It covers every sound I need and want and then some. I have two guitars like this.
Thanks for the comments and thank you mainly for not pointing and laughing!
That is one beautiful Sadowsky - love the flame and the amber hue. Nice!
Beautiful Tele - is that a rosewood top?
That is really cool. A Tele that can do everything. Very forward thinking - nice job.
This is an up to date picture of my modest collection.
Ibanez GSR200 Bass
Strat hardtail partscaster. This was my 2020 lockdown project using spare parts that I had lying around.
2019 MIM FSR Strat. My current No.1.
2010 CV50 Strat. A gift from my wife on my 50th birthday.
Crafter GAE18 Acoustic.
No Tele's in my collection at the moment. I made a partscaster last year - but my son seems to have claimed it!
I bet it goes up to 11, too. Awesome stuff.
