I signed up for TrueFire lessons a while back. From there I stumbled upon the wonderful Tele-based jazz sound and lessons from Tim Lerch. That led me to Ted Greene. I'm not really a jazz guy, but that may be changing. Ted Greene only has one published album. I don't know if this style of jazz has a name, but I just think of it as "not department store music" jazz. Who has this same style and tone?

You might not have to go too far around here. One of our esteemed colleagues ( @klasaine ) was a student of Ted Greene and most graciously posts a few lessons from time to time, which I have enjoyed quite a bit. Here's a link to one of them:

This is in the "Tab, Tips, Theory and Technique" sub-forum, where there are some very knowledgeable and wonderful players who help out forever students like myself on a wide array of topics. Check it out, you might like it.

Yes, Tim's Trufire lessons are what led me to Ted Greene. Does Tim have music on streaming platforms? I haven't found anything of his.

No disrespect to any other truly amazing jazz Tele players....but....there is only one Ted Greene. Seek out the biography “My Life With the Chord Chemist”. We are all in the shadow of Ted.

Tim Lerch is in my opinion 'the' foremost exponent of Ted Greene and the TG style. He's a really thorough teacher.

If you're so inclined, I have several TG lessons on my Youtube channel. My angle is to show that there is a fair amount of accessible Ted Greene material and I try to do it within a 5 to 15 minute lesson.

I suspect that Ted would say "Wes Montgomery". Wes IMO has been the gateway drug to Jazz for a lot of non-Jazz guitarists.

You might also like Joe Pass. Check out Virtuoso.
