After much debate I just placed an order for the Merle Haggard Tuff Dog Telly. I hope it comes in in near perfect condition. This is the most money I have ever spent on a guitar.
I'm not worried about a setup as I do all of my guitars myself. I am hoping it wont need any fret work. I can do it but not on a guitar that I have spent so much money on. I am sure that my wife would have a fit if I were to have to pull out the fret leveling tools and start to go to work on it. LOL All se told me when I ordered it was that it had better be perfect for that much money. I can't argue with her as it is an early birthday-Christmas present and she isn't making me wait to start playing it.

Nice! Every time I see one of those Teles, I want one, but then I look at the price and go: "oh, nevermind". :)

In 10 years time you will call this your best DEAL ever!! Enjoy! Promise yourself NOT to tinker and replace parts. If you feel you have to do that ... RETURN THE GUITAR IMMEDIATELY!! if the guitar does not TALK to you.... return immediately... I had to do this last week with a fabulous sounding ( on paper and in the pictures) guitar.... until I got to hold and played it, that is !!

    Wow!
I’ve never played one, and only seen one (in Redd V’s hands).
    Ultra cool!

Wow, congrats. That's a dream guitar if there ever was one. The man knew how to write a great song and spec out a great tele! What's the first Merle song you'll play on it?

I ordered it through Guitar Center. Financed about half of it for 48 months interest free. It is the real thing.

The band I am in plays 3 Merle songs and I would bet it will be Sing Me Back Home.

Congrats Sleeper. I hope you’ll love your CS Tele like I love my new CS Strat. I had no issues beyond personalizing the setup. The frets were perfectly leveled and crowned. The fingerboard was rolledjust right. I couldn’t be happier. I’ve never owned a guitar like this one. I’ve never had reason to complain about fit or finish on my other guitars but this one is at an entirely different level. Even the pickups are special. Good luck. It sucks to wait but I’m certain it will be worth it.

I seriously doubt you'll be in the last bit disappointed. Of all the Fender CS guitars I've played, only a few didn't meet my super-opinionated bar.

Congrats! I'm so jealous. I've been drooling over this guitar in my Sweetwater catalog for a while now. I wish I could afford this. I'm sure you'll love it.
