For me, my dream guitar is a Martin 000-28. I now have one on order thanks (not limited to) to people that love me...

I will also add, that if you want a great deal on a Martin that you owe it to yourself to talk to the people at Maury's Guitars.

The one I ordered is a 2018 model and the pics of it look great. If it doesn't blow the doors off my current acoustic, it will go back.

NGD post, pics, and review coming.

After I get the 000-28 I will be selling my last amps and parting out my partscaster and playing one acoustic only.

Beautiful guitar I’m partial to the OM-OOO style body myself.
I don’t think I’ve played an acoustic with a OOO scale yet.
You’ll have to tell us all about it when you receive it.
Now it’s time for the hard wait;)

Does it have the modern neck carve or the classic Martin V

Dream guitars, high expectations, higher price tags, obvious doubt, gear upheaval, the internet, the postal service...

This could be a rocky ride.

I bought my OM-28V from Maury’s. Great shop, great guy, great guitar.
His web site was super, easy referencing full specs when you are in the research process.

    Enjoy that beauty.

    Classic V, patterned after a 1930's Martin...

You might be surprised at the deal Maury can do...

I hope you love it. I find acoustic is more enjoyable for a while after getting home from work (can walk around, go outside, and not tether to the amp).

However, I strongly recommend keeping 1 electric and 1 amp - for that day when you feel like it.

I love a OOO-sized guitar.....as well as the Grover Sta-Tite tuners....very "vintage/traditional". (unless those are Schallers or something. Still nice)

Congratulations, that's a wonderful instrument. I'm not sure if I'll ever go for another high quality wooden acoustic - switched to carbon-fiber about a year ago so I wouldn't have to constantly think about the elfin' humidity! But if I ever do, it will probably be an 00 or 000 18 or 28 - I'd have to play a few more to know for sure which.

I'm sure you're gonna love it, but are you sure you're really ready to give up all of your electric gear? I play acoustic more and more these days (we're the same age, so I guess it's not uncommon), but I gotta have at least one good electric and an amp there for when nothing else will do.

    In any case, enjoy it!

Thanks Ray, I have not picked up my Telecaster in months. And, if and when I do it's only for minutes. The acoustic on the other hand, I play for hours, several times a day...

you know, with some of those guitars (high end acoustics) they can take a bit to break in... Maybe give yourself a year or two with it to settle in before you judge the sound... I've had a couple of martins like that.

    Congrats on the new Martin.
I used to own a Martin 000-18GE. Exceptionally nice guitar. Not sure why I sold it. Sigh...

Wow! Hours, plural, implies at least two, and several implies at least 4 times (3 or less would be a few or a couple). So you're playing at least 8 hours a day on the acoustic! OK, OK, I believe you - time to trash heap the electric gear and get SERIOUS! ;)

Really, all the best with the new guitar. I had a 1968 D-28 for about 25 years (bought it in '78 or so, so it had fully opened up when I got it) and it was a magical sounding guitar. I don't enjoy playing dreadnoughts at this point in my ongoing physical deterioration, so I also like smaller guitars. My carbon fiber is essentially an 00 size with an even shorter, 24" scale. The ONLY thing I don't love about it is playing past about the 3rd fret with a capo, where it starts to get kind of crowded. But otherwise, it's all the acoustic guitar I'll ever want or need. Now I just need to start putting in eight hours a day and maybe I'll get somewhere with this fingerpicking!

    Enjoy!

    -Ray
